“Don’t be late for class?” I mused. “What class?”
As I asked myself that question, I clearly heard an elevator arrival announced by a, “BING” sound.
At last! Another person!
I left the floating Lock, carefully placing the small card into my notebook and ran around to the other side of the small brick building expecting to see some people. Or at least a person. Anyone!
I skidded to a halt and looked around. No elevator. No person. Nothing. This place was just simply odd. Yet also familiar in all its oddity.
I did, however, find myself in front of a rather interesting little building with a lone word written above the wide door. It read: REGISTRATION.
Since I was just warned not to be late for class, I figured I’d better see why I found myself in front of the Registration building. I had the nagging suspicion in the back of my rather confused mind that everything here was carefully orchestrated.
Inside, it is cool…in contrast to the growing heat of the day outside which I had noticed while I pursued my investigation.
The room is kind white, with a simple desk in the middle. I was alone again. I turned to retrace my steps.
“Hello! May I help you?” I snapped my head back around startled by the voice from a person who was not there.
“Good morning, may I help you?” The question came from a youngish man standing just behind the desk. Now I feel dizzy because I simply had not seen him before. Was he hiding under the desk when I entered the room? I peered around the room, looking for a secret panel I might spot. And another thing, where was the light coming from as well?
“Who are you?”
“I’m the Librarian,” he answered. I carefully scrutinized him. He looked young but I got the impression of age. “I also do other things liike Regirstration.”
“Right now you need to get to class. You have two classes today. 9:00 am and 11:00 am. It is currently 8:45 am.”
“my name is Adan. What’s yours?”
